SYNTHETIC EVOLUTIONARY PSYCHOLOGY
'Synthetic evolutionary psychology' is the name I give to the
project of using computer simulations and evolutionary robotics to test
hypotheses about the evolution of the human mind.
This research program is described in detail in a paper I have written
with Walter de Back from the University of Utrecht. To read this
paper, click here

Further information about synthetic evolutionary psychology can be found
on Walter de Back's
pages
.
For an example of research in synthetic evolutionary psychology, have a look
at the model of motivational bias
that I have developed with
Annerieke Heuvelink
from the University of Utrecht and Daniel Nettle from the Open University.
My favourite computer program for doing synthetic evolutionary psychology
is NetLogo
.
I'm also using NetLogo to explore the development
of energetically autonomous artificial agents
