SYNTHETIC EVOLUTIONARY PSYCHOLOGY

'Synthetic evolutionary psychology' is the name I give to the project of using computer simulations and evolutionary robotics to test hypotheses about the evolution of the human mind.

This research program is described in detail in a paper I have written with Walter de Back from the University of Utrecht.  To read this paper, click here .

Further information about synthetic evolutionary psychology can be found on Walter de Back's pages .

For an example of research in synthetic evolutionary psychology, have a look at the model of motivational bias that I have developed with Annerieke Heuvelink from the University of Utrecht and Daniel Nettle from the Open University.

My favourite computer program for doing synthetic evolutionary psychology is NetLogo .

I'm also using NetLogo to explore the development of energetically autonomous artificial agents
